Kidi makes shocking revelation about his song ‘Touch it’
KiDi, a singer from Ghana who plays highlife and afrobeat, recently shared the amount of money that his hit song “Touch It” made him after it was released.
The musician admitted that his song “Touch It” has been responsible for more income being made for Ghana than any other song.
During an interview on Okay FM with Abieku Santana on July 4, the singer of the song “Touch It” claimed that the song holds the record for being the most successful single in the history of Ghana.
He asserted that a significant amount of money was made from the song, which has been listened to over 23 million times on YouTube alone.
He continued by stating that the song “Touch It” was his most well-known composition and had been an enormous help to him throughout his career.
KiDi is the stage name of Ghanaian musician Dennis Nana Dwamena, who is most recognized for his work in the highlife and afrobeat genres. He is best known for his smash tune “Odo,” which was released while he was signed to Lynx Entertainment.
The remix, which features Davido and Mayorkun, two celebrities from Nigeria, has been played on the radio extensively across Africa.
He has two younger brothers, Phillip and Elliot. He received his primary school education at St. Anthony’s School in Accra and proceeded to Accra Academy for his Senior High School education. He then went on to the University of Ghana Legon, where he graduated in 2016 with a degree in Economics and Information Studies.
KiDi’s passion for music led him to perform on several “Moonlight Café” platforms while he was a student at the University of Ghana studying Economics and Information Studies. “Moonlight Café” is a production that assists underground musicians and provides them with a stage on which to showcase their abilities.

In addition to that, he recorded cover versions of well-known songs. KiDi entered the MTN Hitmaker competition in 2015, which required him to take a leap of faith.
He ultimately triumphed over the other contestants and was rewarded with a recording contract with Lynx Entertainment.
KiDi rose to fame in the music industry in 2017 with the release of the song “Say You Love Me,” which he not only penned but also arranged and produced.
When KiDi released yet another chart-topping single titled “Odo” in July 2017, the remix with Nigerian musician Davido and Mayorkun in December 2017, and Adiepena in April 2018, he solidified his position as one of the most rapidly ascending artists in Ghana.
